I saw this sculpture in Chelsea last summer that was a pentagon composed of seven air conditioners, each one connected by glass to the next. When turned on (which it wasn’t while I was there) each air conditioner’s exhaust fed the next one’s intake. On closer inspection, there were two more rings of air conditioners, made from smaller units, nested inside the outermost pentagon.
Xbox & PlayStation vs San Diego
“Noah Horowitz, at the Natural Resources Defense Council, calculated that the nation’s gaming consoles, like the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the Sony PlayStation 3, now use about the same amount of electricity each year as San Diego, the ninth-largest city in country.” –Nytimes

Payloads
A tugboat is pushing three barges upstream. The first carries a highly refined mineral; the second is stacked with dry van shipping containers, two of which contain seven stowaways all together; the third’s payload is all garbage, and there are a pair of archeologists who have set up a temporary lab to study the artifacts.
